Sonoma County's wine-growing appellations, from the Russian River Valley and Dry Creek to Alexander Valley and the Sonoma Coast, each one lettered into its own boundary.

Each PlaceMaps print starts as a hand-built Illustrator file: every name is rotated, stretched and fitted letter by letter until the words become the map. Look closely and you'll find Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley and many more.
