Every one of California's 58 counties, hand-lettered one by one into the shape of the Golden State.

Each PlaceMaps print starts as a hand-built Illustrator file: every name is rotated, stretched and fitted letter by letter until the words become the map. Look closely and you'll find Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and every other county.
